Post-Op Week 93: It Messes With Your Mind

image

Slow and steady wins the race, right?   This week I went veggie heavy and it seems to have paid off.  So I’ll be doing that again this week too.  I really like how I feel when I eat veggies, so this will be something that I continue to do.

Post-Op Week 92: Craving Veggies

image

Plodding along this week.  I ate more veggies this week, and liked how I felt afterward so I decided to go veggie heavy this week.  I think the extra fiber will also be good for me–hell, I know it will be.  I’m learning to listen more to what my body feels like having, and this week it really wanted more veggies.

Post-Op Week 90: On The Road

image

I’m late with this week’s post but life happens.  I got notification earlier in the week that one of my cousins had passed away, and the funeral services were this weekend, finishing up today with the funeral Mass.  So I’ve been a bit preoccupied as we had to travel to be with family, which was far more important than updating this thing.

Post-Op Week 81 Progress Report

image

Finally the scale is creeping downward and the holiday regain is about gone!  I’m hoping this continues.   Still struggling to get motivated to exercise though.  Perhaps I should focus on getting more sleep first, because the lack of sleep is hurting my want to exercise.  When I am tired, the last thing I want to do is work out.  I know I’m not sleeping enough but I have so many things I’m juggling right now that it’s hard to get them all done in the 24 hours I am given each day.

Post-Op Week 79 Progress Report: It’s Not All Sunshine and Roses, Y’all

First week back at it and not too shabby, considering that I am now 18 months post-op.  If I can lose this amount or more each week, I will see my goal weight by Christmas.  I’m definitely learning patience right now!

Post-Op Week 78 Progress Report: Revising the Goal and Goals for 2015

Not pleased by the scale this week but after some careful thought and some good old-fashioned data analysis (ever the scientist, I am), I know why I am up and into a weight range I do not feel comfortable being in.

Edited: Post-Op Week 77 Progress Report: Riding the Struggle Bus

This week, my photo post is going to be late as I’ve been out of town for the holiday.  I’m still on the road at the moment–we are stopped for the night in Louisiana.

Post-Op Week 73 Progress Report: Vacation Damage

image

Up 4.4 pounds this week but I know exactly why.  I ate way more starchy carbs than usual while on vacation last week.  This was a conscious choice I made, and I’m not sorry I did it.  I knew what would happen if I did it, and I knew what the consequences would be.  So I’m not surprised that I saw a jump on the scale this morning.  I am surprised it wasn’t greater!  But I’m also glad it wasn’t greater.

Post-Op Week 71 Progress Report: Is This Real Life?

image

Surprised by this week’s progress.  I traveled out of town for a conference,  so planning for meals was tough because I didn’t know what would be available.  I did work out two of the three mornings of the conference as my hotel had a fantastic gym in the bottom of it.  I also ended up walking nearly 15000 steps each day I was away.  I think that helped stave off any potential weight gain I could have had.  Given how I did eat while I was away, I was shocked it didn’t show up more on the scale this morning.  I dreaded stepping on it this morning but knew I needed to hold myself accountable, so I put on my big kid pants, sucked it up and weighed.

Post-Op Week 65 Progress Report: Life Happens

image

This week sees me doing the weight loss cha-cha yet again.  The week was full of challenges stemming from the fact that we are currently a one vehicle household since my car decided last Monday that it had had enough and it was time for a permanent parking spot in the garage in the sky.  I was also dehydrated from yesterday’s trip to the State Fair, which saw me not drinking nearly as much water as I normally do.  But it also saw me walk nearly 6 miles without tiring, and most of that at a pretty good clip.  I couldn’t have done that last year.
