Post-Op Week 90: On The Road

I’m late with this week’s post but life happens.  I got notification earlier in the week that one of my cousins had passed away, and the funeral services were this weekend, finishing up today with the funeral Mass.  So I’ve been a bit preoccupied as we had to travel to be with family, which was far more important than updating this thing.

No change this week.  I weighed myself Saturday before we left town.  Being the stress eater that I am, I fought long and hard not to give in to the stress but in the end, the stress won.  There is a lot going on right now and I am not entirely sure how I am going to continue to handle all of it.  I am just glad there was no uptick in the scale.

I’ve got my breakfasts made for the week–I did that when I got home this evening.  I’ve got snacks taken care of–bought turkey jerky at Buc-ee’s on the way home.  My lunch for tomorrow is packed out (smoked turkey and beans), and I’ve got plenty of water to drink.  I’ll probably have a shake each day for the next couple of days to blunt the effect of eating wantonly while I was gone.  And I will definitely make sure I move as much as possible the next couple of days to get some activity in, especially if the weather stays nice in the evenings.  My husband and I took a 2-mile walk last Monday evening because the weather was so beautiful and it was a lovely evening for a walk and I didn’t want to waste the evening sitting inside.  If the weather holds this week, I’d like to do that again.

Just keep swimming is the mantra these days.  It’s all I can do right now.
