I did it!
I finished my first 5k!
I wasn’t alone–I had a small group of friends join me.
I am blessed to have such wonderful people in my life who support and encourage me.
I am proud of myself!
Next race: July, to commemorate my one-year surgery anniversary.
Yessssssssss!!! Great job!! I had been waiting to see this victorious post – I’m so proud of you!!!!!! I’m trying to run my first one next weekend (5th) – keep your fingers crossed for me!!
You are going to be great!
I am pretty proud of me too. I just wanted to finish. I didn’t care how long it took me as long as I finished. I did end up with a pretty good pace for being a walker–22 minutes a mile, which I thought was good considering the start was so slow. Had there not been a bunch of folks with strollers, I wouldn’t have been as slow. I also think that the fact that I’d been up since 4:45 am and the race started at 8:30 pm was a factor.
Next time will be better–I’ll be lighter, and I sure as hell won’t have been up for 16 hours by the time the race starts!
YIKES – my 5K is tomorrow! I am 100% confident that I WONT run the entire thing. It finally warmed up this week, so I was running outside for the first time – WOW is it different. I could only make it a mile – my chest was burning! BUT, I’m going to do what I can and hope for the best!
Awesome!!!!!!
