Quick Post and Weekend Preview

Great protein day again today: 90 grams.

Today’s food choices, from upper left: one egg omelet with cheese and Applegate Farms uncured ham; grilled chicken with broccoli and cheese; leftover navy bean soup; multivitamin and calcium supplements x2; Trader Joe’s dark chocolate caramel wedges; Trader Joe’s turkey jerky; leftover grilled tilapia, green beans and half a half roasted red skinned potato.

My eating today was pretty good.

I was under my calorie goal by over a hundred calories, but I’ve eaten at or a little bit under it all week long so I’m curious to see how I do this week.  My body is happier when I eat around 900 calories, but this week that has been tough as I’ve met my protein goals before hitting that calorie number.  And I’m simply not hungry enough to want to eat MORE to meet those calorie goals, so I don’t.  I just tank up on water instead.

Today’s nutrition was pretty perfect.  See?

The weekend ahead will bring fall-like weather (finally!) to my part of Texas, plus a football game and tailgate.  It’s our first tailgate, so I’m not quite sure what to expect.  It should be a lot of fun as we are meeting up with college friends of mine for the day.  Ever the planner, I told my husband we should hit up Rudy’s on the way to the game to pick up a half-pound of smoked turkey to snack on at the tailgate, especially since I don’t have time to fix something to take with us.  The smoked turkey at Rudy’s has great nutritional stats (high protein, low fat and calories), is quite good and will make a good snack to eat while we’re tailgating.  He seemed to think that was a good idea.  So we’ll see how it goes.

Tonight at our weekly group meeting, we talked about sources of support and how to get the support you need during your weight loss journey.  This is something that I’ve been mulling over since we started talking about it last week, so perhaps I’ll write about it tomorrow when I’ve had a little more time to think on it.
